Children's Ministries

At Oak Ridges Church, we know how important your child's faith journey is to you.
We are committed to providing a safe and fun environment for your child,
as they learn what it means to follow Jesus.

As part of our commitment to the safety to your family, all of our volunteers who work
in our children's ministries have completed a "Vulnerable Persons' Screening" through
the York Regional Police Department.

Nursery

We have a bright, spacious and well-equipped nursery with a changing area, playpen and many toys and books for children. The nursery also has its own washroom. Children ages 0-4 are invited to be in the nursery if that meets the needs of their family best.

If you would like your child to be in the nursery during a worship service, please speak to the greeter who welcomes you as you enter the building on a Sunday morning. Parents sign their children in and out of the nursery upon arrival and when they leave at the conclusion of the service.

Kid's Club - Children's Sunday School

Each Sunday an educational program is offered for children ages 5-12 years of age during a portion of our 10 a.m. worship service. Children worship with their families until they are formally released for their program. This occurs following the opening worship set and a time of prayer and praise. There are two adults (teacher and assistant) with the children every week.

Our program includes games, Bible teaching and faith-based life lessons, crafts, singing and refreshments. Our current curriculum is called "Teach Us the Bible" - a program that is a chronological walk through all the major stories of the Bible (Old and New Testament) to give the children a firm foundation in biblical knowledge. It includes Bible stories, engaging activities, and media presentations.

In addition, Kids' Club will also act as a "Junior Church" by incorporating aspects of the main service that the children mess each Sunday by going downstairs. The children will have their own time of Prayer and Praise, recite the Lord's Prayer each week, and read from age-appropriate Bibles as part of the Bible lesson.
