women's ministry

WOW - Women of Worth

Our Women’s Ministry is called “WOW” which stands for “Women of Worth,” because as daughters of the Most High God, redeemed and adopted into His Family, we are indeed women of worth.

There are a number of opportunities for the women of our church to spend time together, connecting with one another, growing in the Lord as disciples of Jesus, and encouraging each other.

Women's bible studies

We offer two options for women's Bible studies. Our larger group meets on Tuesday afternoons at 1 pm. A smaller group meets twice a month on Monday evenings.

The Tuesday group is studying the life and ministry of the prophet Elijah, using the study "Elijah: Faith and Fire" by Priscilla Shirer. The Monday evening group is studying TBA.

Coffee, tea, and light refreshments are provided, and personal copies of the curriculum are available for order from Amazon.

acts of service

Our women know the importance of loving and supporting each other in Jesus’ name. We believe in coming alongside people who have specific needs to help meet them. We do this in a number of ways, including:

  • Providing needed items and meals for new mothers and others who need assistance in this way
  • Making personal visits to church members
  • Making Christmas gift bags in Advent filled with fun and practical items, as well as homemade cards, for our oldest members and others with ongoing health concerns
  • Participating in our community food bank drives
  • Providing transportation and shopping when members are in need
  • Decorating the church for various seasons and special occasions during the year

Women's Retreats and other events

For many years the women of our church have taken the opportunity for spiritual growth, fellowship, fun and relaxation by attending the spring and/or fall Ladies’ retreats offered at the Faith Mission in Campbellville, ON.

Additionally, several times a year, the women also enjoy other events together, including:

  • Trips to the Mennonite Central Committee’s Fall Festival and Quilt Auction in Stouffville, ON
  • Sharing crafts and talents with each other through hands-on workshops
  • Participation in programs and devotions to build awareness of how God’s Kingdom in being built in our world
